Libya’s delegation to the “Ambition Africa 2025” conference in Paris received immediate official French attention. Upon his arrival at the conference venue, Engineer Belqassem Haftar, the Director-General of the Development and Reconstruction Fund of Libya, was received by the French Ambassador to Libya, Thierry Valat, alongside representatives from the French agency “Business France”. Following their attendance at Haftar’s intervention during a discussion panel, the French delegation held a formal meeting with him to discuss prospects for cooperation and potential future areas of support.
The Libyan delegation, including Jibreel Al-Badri, Head of the National Development Agency, formed part of the conference activities hosted in the French capital on 18 and 19 November. The summit is held under the patronage of the President of the French Republic and overseen by the French Ministries of Economy, Finance, and Industry, and Europe and Foreign Affairs, to explore partnership and development opportunities across the African continent.
The conference serves as a high-level international platform, convening over 1,800 participants from 43 African nations and France. Its agenda encompasses approximately 2,000 business-to-business (B2B) meetings between French and African companies, in addition to specialised workshops and general sessions focused on examining economic partnership prospects and bolstering modernisation and development projects in Africa.
