The Minister of Oil and Gas, Dr. Khalifa Rajab Abdel Sadiq, hosted Abdul-Ilah Al-Aiban, the Chairman and CEO of the Saudi company Medad Energy, and his accompanying delegation, to explore avenues for cooperation in the energy sector.
Minister Abdel Sadiq, emphasised the Ministry’s focus on attracting investment and opening the door for international companies to resume their operations in Libya, especially following the recent return of several major corporations to the market.
The discussions primarily focused on potential partnership areas, with particular attention given to refining, marketing, and unconventional resources projects. The Saudi delegation was also briefed on the Ministry’s vision for expanding international partnerships as part of its sector development plans.
For his part, Al-Aiban presented an overview of Medad Energy’s expertise and successes, expressing the company’s readiness to contribute to strategic projects within the Libyan market and transfer its knowledge to Libya. Both parties agreed to maintain communication, given Medad’s desire to expand the scope of cooperation in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two nations.
