A number of citizens organised a protest this evening to register their rejection of the agreement concluded between the Government of National Accord and Italy. This agreement, which permits the settlement of migrants within Libyan territory, was the source of the demonstrators’ anger.
During the protest, a petition was signed demanding the immediate withdrawal of the decision and emphasising the necessity of protecting the country’s sovereignty and its citizens’ rights. Voices were also raised calling for the intervention of the competent governmental bodies to review the terms and provisions of the agreement in question.
