Lieutenant General First Grade Saddam Haftar, Deputy General Commander of the Armed Forces, presided over an expansive security meeting at the General Command headquarters in Benghazi, which included senior leadership figures. Among the attendees were National Security Adviser Abdul Razzaq Al-Nazhuri, Libyan Government Minister of Interior Major General Essam Abu-Zreiba, alongside military and security commanders.
The participants deliberated on several fundamental issues central to the country’s national security. Particular focus was placed on the matter of cross-border security threats and strategies to counter them effectively, to ensure national stability and reinforce state sovereignty. The discussion also involved reviewing joint operational mechanisms to secure essential services vital to citizens’ daily lives, to cultivate a safe and stable environment for the populace.
Concluding the meeting, Lieutenant General First Grade Haftar underscored the critical necessity of consolidating the efforts of all military units and security agencies. He stressed the importance of activating joint operations rooms and adopting practical, effective action plans to safeguard national security in all its dimensions.
