The Ministry of Local Government of the Government of National Unity organised a lecture on Wednesday titled “Women’s Economic Empowerment.” The event took place at the Central Tripoli Municipality hall, held on the sidelines of the third session of the ‘Libya Clean’ exhibition for environment and cleaning services.
The lecture was supervised by Mabrouka Zureiq, Director of the Ministry’s Office for Women’s Support and Empowerment, in collaboration with Ms. Naima Al-Arabi Abu Mais, Director of the corresponding office in Central Tripoli Municipality. Several municipal council members attended the session.
The proceedings began with a welcome speech delivered by Central Tripoli Municipal Council member Nahed Al-Dahmani. Subsequently, Zainab Ahmed Najeeb, a social expert and family relations consultant, presented a lecture discussing women’s involvement in local associations and their role in promoting environmental and health awareness, as well as contributing to community campaigns. She also highlighted the existing opportunities and challenges.
The Ministry affirmed that the lecture is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance women’s roles in community and economic participation, empowering them to make decisions and contribute to fostering a clean and healthy environment.
