Khaled Shakshak, the Head of the Audit Bureau, emphasised the critical importance of financial oversight and the protection of public funds in Libya during his meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador to Tripoli, Tamer El Hefny. The discussions, held at the Bureau’s headquarters, covered several issues, notably the need for Egyptian companies involved in development projects to adhere strictly to national governance standards and applicable Libyan legislation.
In the context of strengthening bilateral ties, Shakshak stressed the imperative of continuous coordination between the supreme audit institutions of both nations to serve shared interests. This assertion followed his commendation of the exemplary organisation provided by the Egyptian Accountability State Authority for the 25th General Assembly of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), which took place in Sharm El Sheikh last October.
Following the formal meeting, the Head of the Bureau escorted the Egyptian Ambassador on a tour inside the building, where El Hefny expressed appreciation for the level of professionalism and orderliness he observed at the Audit Bureau.
