Al-Naseem Food Industries Company in Misrata hosted a delegation from the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). The delegation was led by the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Resident Coordinator, Ulrika Richardson, and was accompanied by the Italian Ambassador, Gianluca Albèrini. The visit aimed to gain firsthand insight into the pivotal role played by the company, a leader in its sector, in bolstering the Libyan economy and enriching the local labour market.
The UN delegation expressed significant appreciation for the company’s active contribution to creating over 2,000 employment opportunities for Libyan citizens. The delegation noted that this achievement underscores the capacity of national institutions to drive economic development and provide sustainable jobs.
Richardson also commended Al-Naseem’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, emphasising the importance of the company’s role in establishing and maintaining a stable economic environment that serves the country’s interests.
