Libya officially participated on Friday in the preparatory meeting for the 2025 Bodybuilding World Championship, hosted in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The meeting convened delegations from 105 nations ahead of the main competition, which is scheduled to take place between 27 November and 1 December.
Libya was represented by the head of its delegation and Federation member, Adel Al-Bebbas, alongside international referee Wesam Al-Akkari. The gathering had numerous heads of delegations and international referees.
In a statement to the Libyan News Agency, Al-Bebbas detailed the substantive and organisational matters discussed during the meeting. Key topics included: official rules and regulations, the competition schedule and timetable, referees’ affairs, and the official attire. Crucially, the meeting addressed medical directives and anti-doping measures, the logistical requirements for participating missions, the setup of halls and backstage areas, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies and updates on the activities of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB).
Al-Bebbas concluded by stressing the profound importance of Libya’s involvement in this global sporting event, expressing his aspiration for the delegation to achieve respectable results befitting Libya’s name on the international stage.
