The Libyan national powerlifting team ascended to the top of the general rankings at the African Championship held in Tunisia, achieving a remarkable feat by concluding its participation with a total haul of 33 medals.
The medals won by the national team were distributed as follows: 22 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals. This exceptional performance secured Libya the first-place position with a significant and comfortable margin over the other participating teams in the continental competition.
The championship spanned three days of intense competition and featured wide participation from eleven nations. The Libyan team comprised 35 athletes, overseen and directed by national coach Tareq Makhlouf.
