On Monday in Tripoli, Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity Abdulhamid Dbeibah received U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) Commander Dagvin Anderson and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Defense Minister Abdulsalam Al-Zoubi, Chief of General Staff General Mohamed Al-Haddad, Deputy Chief of Staff General Salah Al-Namroush, and Director of Military Intelligence Major General Mahmoud Hamza.
Discussions centered on strengthening military cooperation between Libya and the United States, particularly in training, equipment, and capacity-building programs. Dbeibah emphasized the importance of supporting the Libyan military through effective partnerships and advanced training initiatives, reaffirming his government’s commitment to security, stability, and addressing regional threats.
Commander Anderson praised the progress achieved in joint training and cooperation programs, reaffirming AFRICOM’s continued support and stressing the importance of ongoing coordination to enhance regional security.
