The State of Libya participated in the official event organised by the United Nations at its headquarters in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, to commemorate the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which falls annually on 29 November. Libya was represented at the event by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Nairobi, accompanied by the Embassy’s UN file official.
The Chargé d’Affaires delivered a speech during the occasion, in which he affirmed Libya’s fixed and unwavering position supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. The speech also emphasised Libya’s absolute rejection of all forms of violations committed against the Palestinian people by the Israeli occupation forces.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that Libya’s participation underscores the Embassy’s commitment to engaging positively with all UN activities and supporting national stances on Arab issues, foremost among them the Palestinian Cause.
In a separate engagement, the Chargé d’Affaires and several embassy staff accepted an invitation from the Qatari Embassy in Nairobi to attend the celebration marking Qatar’s National Day.
