Libya participated today in the meeting of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris, represented by Dr Salama Al-Ghwail, Minister of State for Economic Affairs in the Government of National Unity, alongside international delegations of experts and leaders from major economic institutions worldwide.
The opening sessions focused on international competition policies, tackling monopolistic practices, updating economic legislation, and strengthening consumer protection, all within the OECD’s broader efforts to foster transparency and fair competition.
The Libyan delegation highlighted the role of the Council of Competition and Antitrust, stressing the importance of developing a national competition framework that ensures a fair and stable business environment, reinforcing trust among citizens and the private sector.
The event also provided a valuable opportunity to exchange expertise and learn from global best practices, supporting Libya’s economic reforms and enhancing international cooperation.
