The Libyan Media Forum launched in the capital, Tripoli, as part of the “Tripoli Media Days 2025” program, under the patronage of Abdulrazzaq Al-Dahesh, Chairman of the National Media Corporation.
The forum, which will run for several days, aims to stimulate media innovation, support emerging institutions, and create creative opportunities for youth, in line with aspirations for a modern and responsible media scene in Libya.
The opening session featured remarks by Al-Dahesh, who emphasised the priority of building a modern media landscape that reflects the aspirations of Libyans and supports the path of national development, stressing the role of media in promoting professionalism and openness.
As part of the forum’s activities, Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Al-Lafi, joined a panel discussion on the future of Libyan media, announcing state support for 15 emerging media institutions as promising initiatives. He emphasized that the flourishing of media requires an environment that respects freedom of expression and provides an open platform for all voices.
