The General Command headquarters in Benghazi hosted an extensive meeting chaired by the General Commander of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, with the participation of Libya’s Prime Minister, Dr. Osama Hamad, along with several senior security and financial officials, including Assistant General Commander Major General Basem Al-Buaishi, Director of the General Commander’s Office Major General Ayoub Bousif, Head of the Internal Security Agency Major General Osama Al-Dressi, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Libya Maraai Al-Barassi, and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Major General Faraj Ghaim.


The meeting focused on reviewing the situation related to the ongoing cash and fuel shortages, discussing urgent measures that could help mitigate their impact, and examining ways to strengthen coordination among the relevant institutions to maintain service stability and support financial balance in the country.


During the discussions, the General Commander emphasized that securing citizens’ basic needs is a non-negotiable priority, stressing the importance of identifying the real causes behind the two crises and developing swift solutions that safeguard public interests and ensure the continuity of essential services.
