Libya’s national blind goalball team concluded its participation in the Africa Championship, held in Egypt, in fourth place after a narrow defeat to Cameroon in the placement match (14–13).
The tournament featured six participating teams — Libya, Egypt, Algeria, Cameroon, Benin, and Niger — and the Libyan team delivered solid performances despite missing out on a podium finish.
Libya had earlier lost its chance to reach the final after falling to host nation Egypt with a score of 11–1, which placed the team in the match for third place.
It is worth noting that the champion and runner‑up of the tournament will secure qualification spots for the 2026 World Championship scheduled to take place in the United States.
