The Health, Safety and Environment Department at the National Oil Corporation held a meeting with a delegation from the European Union at the NOC headquarters in Tripoli, with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in attendance.
Members of the European delegation expressed their appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the Corporation to strengthen technical capabilities and improve environmental performance at production sites, highlighting its commitment to reducing gas flaring and emissions as part of its strategic programs.
The meeting discussed mechanisms for developing existing partnerships between the Corporation and European companies operating in Libya’s oil and gas sector, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation in emissions‑reduction projects and benefit from European expertise in renewable energy.
The two sides also explored ways to enhance the Corporation’s role in the energy‑transition pathway over the coming years, within the framework of joint efforts to advance Libya’s oil sector in line with modern environmental standards.
