Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Saddam Haftar, affirmed the depth of Libyan–Egyptian relations and the ongoing coordination and cooperation across various military fields, stressing the importance of this partnership in serving the shared interests of both countries.
Haftar visited the Egyptian frigate ENS Port Said 976, docked at Benghazi Naval Base, where he was received by the Commander of the Egyptian Navy’s First Destroyer Brigade and the frigate’s commander, Brigadier Ahmed Al-Masri.
The visit included a tour during which Haftar was briefed on the frigate’s missions and operational programs, in addition to discussions on strengthening cooperation between the Libyan and Egyptian navies, particularly in the areas of naval training and the exchange of technical and operational expertise.
The presence of the Egyptian frigate in Benghazi reflects the level of coordination between the two countries’ naval forces and highlights the role of joint training programs and knowledge exchange in enhancing naval capabilities and supporting regional stability.
