The Assistant Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Salahuddin Al-Namroush, has today issued a statement mourning the tragic death of the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad. General Al-Haddad was killed in a devastating accident while returning from an official mission to the Turkish capital, Ankara. The tribute also extended to his comrades who perished in the same incident: Land Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Al-Fitouri Gribel, Director of the Military Manufacturing Authority Brigadier Mahmoud Al-Qatiwi, Special Advisor Mohammed Al-Asawi Diab, and media centre photographer Mohammed Omar Mahjoub.
General Al-Namroush emphasised that the loss of these leaders represents a “deep pain” and an irreparable blow to the military establishment and the nation as a whole. He noted that throughout their careers, the deceased and his companions embodied the highest values of discipline and responsibility, serving as models of sincere national commitment who dedicated their lives to safeguarding Libya’s security and sovereignty.
Al-Namroush added that the sacrifices of these men would remain forever etched in the nation’s conscience and historical memory. He concluded the statement by offering his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, their colleagues within the General Staff, and the Libyan people, praying for mercy and peace for the departed.
