The Chairman of the Board of the Misrata Free Zone, Engineer Mohsen Mohamed Al‑Saqoutari, received today the Acting Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Libya, Liu Jian, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Director General Engineer Ayman Al‑Drouish and several department heads. The visit aimed to review the capabilities of the Misrata Free Zone and to learn about the investment opportunities and competitive advantages it offers, amid growing interest from Chinese companies in the Libyan market.
The meeting discussed prospects for cooperation and ways to attract Chinese companies to operate and invest within the Free Zone in the coming period, in a manner that serves mutual interests.
For his part, the Acting Ambassador expressed the broad interest of Chinese institutions and companies in entering the Misrata Free Zone and benefiting from its strategic location, infrastructure, and available services.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation conducted a field tour that included the seaport, as well as a visit to the headquarters of Huawei, one of the world’s leading companies operating inside the Misrata Free Zone.
