Dr Ahmed al-Sahhaf, Iraq’s Chargé d’Affaires, stated that the operation involved rigorous diplomatic coordination to provide essential medical and food supplies. The flights were secured by units from the National Intelligence Service alongside medical teams from the Ministry of Health to ensure the well-being of the passengers. Al-Sahhaf commended the close cooperation with Libyan authorities and the Department of Foreign Relations in the Kurdistan Region, noting that embassy staff in Tripoli worked around the clock to execute the mission. He highlighted that these efforts reflect both the strength of Iraq-Libya bilateral relations and a steadfast commitment to resolving the plight of migrants.
