Dbeibeh receives delegation from Saudi Ajyal Company

Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, received a high-level delegation from the Saudi Ajyal Petroleum and Energy Company this Sunday. Led by Chairman Musleh Al-Dawsari and Executive Director Adel Al-Eidan, the meeting took place alongside the fourth edition of the Libya Energy & Economic Summit. During the discussions, the Saudi delegation formally announced its intent to enter the Libyan market, seeking investment opportunities across exploration, production, and oilfield services. They also presented advanced technical solutions designed to modernise the energy sector and enhance the overall efficiency of industrial operations.

Dbeibeh emphasized that Libya is fostering an open and attractive environment for major global investors, noting that government policy is built upon strategic partnerships defined by transparency and equal opportunity. He highlighted that these partnerships are essential for transferring modern technology and expertise to develop the infrastructure of the oil and gas sectors, ensuring the optimal utilization of Libya’s natural resources. Furthermore, the Prime Minister committed to streamlining legal and administrative procedures for international firms, ensuring that projects can be launched swiftly and successfully within the national legal framework.

The meeting also explored various investment prospects, particularly in drilling, the rehabilitation of existing oil fields, and participation in emerging renewable energy projects. This engagement follows a recent official Libyan government visit to Saudi Arabia, which included high-level talks with the Saudi Minister of Energy and representatives from Saudi Aramco. Dbeibeh noted that such diplomatic and economic outreach is central to the country’s strategy of engaging strategic partners to boost oil production and develop local human capital. He reaffirmed the government’s readiness to provide technical and administrative support to committed investors to strengthen the sector’s regional and international competitiveness.

These discussions coincide with the broader activities of the fourth Libya Energy & Economic Summit, a platform that has seen the signing of numerous agreements and memoranda of understanding between Libyan institutions and global energy firms. This economic momentum aims to open new horizons for investment in oil, gas, and electricity. By encouraging the participation of major foreign companies, Libya seeks to achieve sustainable development in its vital energy sectors, ultimately improving service delivery for its citizens and securing long-term economic stability through enhanced operational performance
