Ministry of Interior Reveals Details of Armed Robbery on Al-Aman Bank Funds in Rayaynah

The Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity released details of the armed robbery incident targeting a vehicle transporting funds belonging to Al-Aman Bank near the Rayaynah area. The ministry emphasized in its statement that the competent security agencies have immediately initiated their investigative and research procedures to pursue the perpetrators involved, reinforcing its commitment to applying deterrent legal measures against them to ensure justice is served.

According to the ministry, the incident occurred last Tuesday during the transfer of funds from the main vault of Al-Aman Bank in Gharyan towards the Awainia area, with part of these funds subsequently destined for Nalut Bank. The ministry pointed to a fundamental security flaw in the transfer process, noting the use of a civilian vehicle, a “Toyota Tundra,” which lacked the protective standards designed for transporting funds. Furthermore, there was a complete absence of any prior coordination or notification with the Facilities Security Authority responsible for securing such movements.
