Libya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Taher El-Sonni, announced that he discussed the outcomes of recent consultations with the UN Special Representative, Hanna Tetteh. The meeting serves as a precursor to the briefing Tetteh will deliver to the UN Security Council this Wednesday regarding the situation in Libya.

He reaffirmed the importance of a Libyan-led and Libyan-owned solution, emphasizing that any proposed initiatives must focus on concluding transitional periods and achieving general elections that meet the aspirations of the Libyan people.
