The “Equestrian and Shooting Vision 2030” is set to officially commence on Saturday, March 7, as part of a national project to advance these sports in Libya in. Held under the patronage of Lieutenant General Bassem Al-Buaishi, the Honorary President of the Equestrian and Shooting Federations, the initiative establishes a clear roadmap for building a professional and sustainable sporting ecosystem. The ultimate goal is to cultivate champions capable of restoring Libya’s presence on regional and international podiums.

This project serves as a practical blueprint for restructuring both sectors through long-term institutional work, aligning technical and administrative plans with specific milestones through 2030. This ensures consistency in performance and the steady accumulation of expertise. A top priority within this vision is developing infrastructure, including modernizing shooting ranges and equestrian tracks to meet global standards, and creating advanced training facilities that support athletes from early stages through to professional competition.
Furthermore, the vision incorporates specialized programs for the training and certification of technical staff, referees, and coaches through workshops led by local and international experts, as well as exchange programs with leading global federations. This approach aims to build a qualified human resource base capable of managing tournaments according to worldwide criteria. Parallel to this, the project focuses on talent identification through school and community programs, offering tailored training paths to ensure the technical and physical growth of young athletes.

Organizers emphasize that Vision 2030 is an enduring national commitment rather than a temporary phase, grounded in scientific planning and periodic evaluation. The initial stage is expected to feature a series of local championships governed by modern regulations, serving as a stepping stone for effective participation in Arab, African, and major international competitions. Efforts will also be directed toward establishing partnerships with domestic and foreign sporting institutions to exchange knowledge and elevate overall performance levels
