Al-Baour Discusses Expanding Libya-Serbia Cooperation in Belgrade

In an official visit to the Serbian capital, Belgrade, Taher Al-Baour, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for the Government of National Unity, met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Jure Matsut. The discussions focused on the trajectory of bilateral relations and a variety of political and economic issues of mutual concern.

At the beginning of the meeting, Serbian Prime Minister Jure Matsut welcomed Minister Al-Baour, expressing his appreciation for the level of relations connecting his country with Libya and his government’s eagerness to expand cooperation to serve the interests of both nations. For his part, Al-Baour conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibeh to his Serbian counterpart, emphasizing the Libyan government’s recognition of the ties between the two countries and their significant development over the past years. Al-Baour also extended an official invitation to the Serbian Prime Minister to visit Libya, a move intended to bolster the path of bilateral relations and develop mechanisms for cooperation across various fields.

Libyan Ambassador in Belgrade Meets with Serbian Prime Minister

During the session, the Acting Foreign Minister reviewed the latest developments in the Libyan political landscape and the efforts exerted by the Government of National Unity to support political and security stability while enhancing the country’s economic conditions. Al-Baour touched upon governmental programs to improve public services and attract international partners to participate in development projects in Libya. The two sides also discussed several regional and international issues, exchanging views on political and economic developments in the region and the importance of strengthening international cooperation to face common challenges.

Libya and Hungary Discuss Global Affairs and Deepen Bilateral Ties

The two parties explored ways to expand cooperation in the health and education sectors. They discussed the possibility of developing cooperation programs between health institutions in both countries, including the exchange of medical expertise and training, as well as opportunities to support the Libyan health sector through partnerships with specialized Serbian entities. Regarding education, the meeting addressed the potential for expanding academic cooperation programs between universities and educational institutions, providing new opportunities for students and researchers. Furthermore, they discussed investment opportunities in energy, telecommunications, and modern technology, highlighting the importance of digital transformation in supporting technical infrastructure.
