The Egyptian Shooting Club in Cairo witnessed a strong Libyan performance during the second day of the Shooting Grand Prix, as the national team delivered exceptional performances among 250 shooters from 11 nations. The Libyan team successfully secured third place last Thursday, demonstrating their readiness for high-level international challenges.
This performance is attributed to the support led by Lieutenant General Bassem Al-Buaishi, who focused on modernizing the team’s technical resources. Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Ajili, head of the Equestrian Sub-Federation in the Eastern Region, noted that Al-Buaishi’s patronage included providing cutting-edge weaponry and equipment meeting international standards. This sponsorship extended beyond material needs to include psychological motivation, ensuring national talents are well-prepared for global competitions.
The Libyan delegation expressed great optimism regarding their current trajectory, with international shooter Akram Al-Jali stating that the team entered the second day’s competitions with high morale and a determination to win. Al-Jali voiced deep appreciation for Lieutenant General Al-Buaishi’s initiatives and praised the motivational visit by Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Ajili. He emphasized that such integrated support serves as the primary catalyst for Libyan shooting to maintain its lead and fulfill its ambitions of achieving successive victories on the podium.
