Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, General Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, conducted a field tour to monitor the progress of urban development projects managed by the National Development Agency in Benghazi. He was accompanied by General Saddam Haftar, Deputy General Commander, and General Khaled Haftar, Chief of the General Staff. Also in attendance were Engineer Belgasem Haftar, Director General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, General Ayoub Bouseif, Director of the General Commander’s Office, Jibril Al-Badri, Head of the National Development Agency, and Counselor Ezzedine Al-Gharabi, Mayor of Benghazi.
The visit featured the inauguration of the first and second phases of the container terminal at Benghazi port, alongside an inspection of the Juliyana Free Zone project, where the General Commander reviewed construction and logistics completion rates. Furthermore, the tour included a review of development master plans for the Al-Sabri and Al-Bilad districts as part of the city’s reconstruction strategy. This initiative reflects the General Command’s commitment to direct oversight of development efforts, ensuring that work aligns with approved plans and timelines.
