The Mayor of Susa, Eng. Abdul Hakim Bashir, held a high-level coordination meeting with a delegation from the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, led by Eng. Saad Al-Zawi, Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs. The meeting, which included representatives from NEOM Real Estate Development and Al-Raed Engineering Consultancy, focused on finalizing the operational blueprints for the Susa-Shahhat road development project. This strategic venture is regarded as a cornerstone for regional infrastructure, aimed at modernizing one of the most vital transit corridors in the region, which connects coastal areas with the mountainous hinterlands.
During the session, Mayor Bashir highlighted the project’s anticipated impact on the local community, emphasizing how a modernized road network will facilitate smoother commutes for citizens and provide a much-needed boost to local economic sectors, including logistics and domestic tourism. He expressed his gratitude to the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, specifically noting the proactive leadership of Director-General Eng. Belgasim Khalifa Haftar. The Fund’s commitment to rigorous oversight ensures that all development projects are executed in strict adherence to pre-established delivery schedules.
Eng. Saad Al-Zawi presented on the project’s execution phases, elaborating on the technical methodology designed to meet international safety and quality standards. This includes minimizing environmental and logistical disruptions for residents during the construction period. Furthermore, Al-Raed Engineering Consultancy shared detailed field insights, showcasing technical designs that involve asphalt rehabilitation, lane expansion, and the implementation of advanced rainwater drainage systems to ensure long-term structural integrity.
