John Edward, the agent of Tunisian star Ali Maaloul, the left-back of the Egyptian club Al-Ahly, announced the player’s departure from the Red Castle during the current winter transfer window.
Edward explained in an official statement issued on Monday that the decision to leave came after Maaloul fully recovered from his injury and was ready to participate in matches, in light of the absence of any talk from the club regarding the player’s future and his fate with the team.
Edward confirmed that Maaloul wishes Al-Ahly success in the coming period, extending his thanks to the fans of the Red Castle for their great support for him throughout his career with the team, a period marked by numerous titles and triumphs.
It is noteworthy that Maaloul joined Al-Ahly from the Tunisian club Sfaxien in the summer of 2016, and contributed effectively to achieving many local and continental championships with the Al-Ahly club. The player had suffered an Achilles tendon rupture in May of last year, and was subsequently absent from the stadiums for a long time, before recovering recently, but Al-Ahly’s technical director, Swiss Marcel Koller, according to reports, refused to register the player in the local and African list.
