The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, agreed today, Wednesday, to resume direct flights between the two countries starting next October.
This agreement came during Dabaiba’s meeting at the Amiri Diwan in Doha, where the two sides exchanged views on regional developments and issues of common interest. The resumption of flights aims to enhance cooperation in the aviation sector and facilitate travel between Libya and Qatar.
During the meeting, Dabaiba praised Qatar’s active role in regional mediation, particularly in supporting the Palestinian cause and the Gaza Strip, considering Doha’s efforts to contribute to alleviating human suffering and promoting diplomatic solutions.
The two sides also discussed developments in economic and investment cooperation between the two countries and the follow-up on the implementation of joint strategic projects to strengthen bilateral relations and establish a more robust and effective economic partnership.
