Libyan authorities, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), have deported 175 undocumented migrants in a two-day operation, officials announced Tuesday.
The operation, carried out under the directive of Major General Salah Mahmoud Al-Khafeefi, head of Libya’s Directorate for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM), was the repatriation of 159 Nigerian nationals on Monday, February 24, 2025. This was followed by the deportation of 13 Bangladeshi and three Burkinabe migrants on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, all departing from Benina Airport.
