General Al-Sadiq Al-Maghrabi, head of the Criminal Investigation Department in Al-Wahat, revealed details of a security operation carried out by the department, which resulted in the liberation of 263 illegal migrants held in dire conditions at a site in the Ajkharra area.
In an exclusive statement to Al-Manassa, Al-Maghrabi explained that the operation was the result of intensive investigations and monitoring of a smuggling gang movement in the area. Criminal Investigation forces, after raiding the site, were able to rescue the migrants who were suffering from deteriorating health conditions due to inhumane detention and malnutrition.
Al-Maghrabi added that the migrants received urgent medical care immediately after their liberation, while authorities initiated a comprehensive investigation to identify those involved in the crime and bring them to justice.
General Al-Maghrabi the Department’s commitment to continuing its efforts to combat human trafficking networks and counter attempts to exploit migrants. He also called for combined security and humanitarian efforts to reduce this phenomenon and provide necessary protection for the most vulnerable groups.
