On Wednesday, Mohamed al-Menfi, head of the Presidential Council, chaired an important meeting dedicated to monitoring security developments in the Western Region, particularly in the capital, Tripoli. Members of the ceasefire implementation follow-up committee were in attendance.
During the meeting, Menfi discussed the extent of the relevant parties’ adherence to the terms of the ceasefire agreement. He underscored the necessity for all armed formations to immediately return to their original barracks, in accordance with the approved security understandings.

The head of the Presidential Council stressed the importance of meticulously and transparently implementing the truce phases. He also noted the need to expedite the resolution of challenges facing the concerned committee, to ensure the continued state of calm in the capital and support its stability, considering it a symbol of the country’s unity.
The meeting was attended by the Chief of General Staff, several heads of specialised staff divisions, and the commanders of the military regions in Tripoli, the Western Coast, and the Central Region.
