Engineer Belkacem Haftar, Director General of Libya’s Development and Reconstruction Fund, paid an official visit to Athens at the invitation of the Greek government, where he held high-level talks with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Foreign Minister Georgios Gerapetritis, and other senior officials.
The discussions centered on forging stronger cooperation between the two nations in reconstruction and development. Both sides agreed to establish a timeline for Greek business leaders and companies to visit Libya and explore opportunities to contribute to major rebuilding efforts overseen by the Fund.
The visit concluded with a mutual commitment to follow through on the agreed-upon initiatives, advancing shared interests and promoting long-term stability and sustainable growth across the region. The meetings reflected a growing momentum toward strategic partnerships in post-conflict recovery and infrastructure development
