Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the General Commander of the Armed Forces, hosted a delegation comprising sheikhs, elders, and wisdom keepers from Bani Walid tribes at the Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar Military City. The meeting was attended by several senior leaders, most notably Libyan Prime Minister Osama Hammad and the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Khaled Haftar. The General Commander welcomed the delegation, praising the Bani Walid tribes’ patriotic stances and their historically active role in fostering social peace and national reconciliation
In the context of his vision for the current situation, Haftar asserted that the Libyan people recognise the critical nature of the current phase and that the country requires a radical change in the political landscape to ensure unity and security. He stressed that this change must originate from a peaceful and organised popular movement, where citizens take the initiative to determine their destiny and build the state.
The General Commander also issued a call to countries interested in peace and stability in Libya,
urging them to fully align themselves with the choice of the Libyan people. He emphasised the necessity for these nations to stand by the populace as they draw their state’s roadmap, indicating that the genuine and sustainable resolution to the crisis lies exclusively in the path determined by the Libyans themselves
Bani Walid delegation expressed their deep pride and appreciation for the General Command, valuing its continuous efforts in establishing security and stability. They affirmed their full support for the armed forces in their endeavours to build and protect the nation and unify the national ranks.
