Units of the reinforced Tariq bin Ziyad Brigade, in cooperation with security agencies operating at Benghazi seaport, managed to thwart a smuggling operation involving a large quantity of drugs hidden inside a container arriving from the Netherlands. The 20-foot container arrived on November 3, 2025, with official documentation indicating it contained used spare parts and engines; however, meticulous and intensive inspection procedures resulted in the discovery of 93 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, known as “Shabou,” distributed across 93 bags.
Within the framework of established legal procedures, the confiscated quantity was destroyed under the supervision of representatives from the Public Prosecution to ensure the highest standards of transparency. The case file has also been referred to the competent judicial authorities to complete investigations.
