The Ramadan Shooting Championship, held under the “Compak Sporting” discipline, concluded with a closing ceremony attended by the Head of the Libyan Heritage and Wildlife Authority, Eng. Rafia al-Oreibi, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, Mr. Ali Ftita. The tournament was organized and supervised by the Benghazi Shooting Club, serving as a prominent platform for athletes from across the country.
The event featured 27 shooters organized into teams of three, representing diverse Libyan cities including Zawiya, Zuwara, Al-Khums, Tobruk, and Benghazi. This broad representation highlighted a growing national interest in the sport and its growth potential. Aimed at aligning local skills with international competition standards, the championship focused on precision and speed, governed by the specific technical rules of the “Compak Sporting” system.

Participants demonstrated advanced technical skills and high discipline throughout the qualifying and final rounds. The Libyan Heritage and Wildlife Authority, in coordination with the Benghazi Shooting Club, ensured all technical equipment, scoring systems, and safety protocols met professional standards. At the conclusion, officials emphasized the importance of periodic tournaments in promoting traditional sports among Libyan youth. The event ended with an awards ceremony honoring the top three winners and distributing certificates to all participating teams as part of a strategic plan to expand the sport’s reach and provide future training.
