On April 6th, Libya took part in celebrating the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, a United Nations-designated day aimed at showcasing how athletics can foster tolerance and strengthen social cohesion. The Libyan Shooting Federation spearheaded these local efforts through awareness campaigns, emphasizing that sports serve as a vital instrument for instilling discipline, mutual respect, and personal growth among the youth. The federation highlighted that shooting is more than a competitive discipline; it is an educational platform that builds mental focus, accountability, and ethical values.
Furthermore, the federation underscored the significance of the 2030 Vision for Equestrian and Shooting, which focuses on modernizing infrastructure and training technical staff to meet global standards. This roadmap involves collaborating with international organizations to exchange expertise and elevate performance levels. Bassem Mohammed Al-Buaishi, Vice President of the African Shooting Confederation and Honorary President of the Libyan Federation, affirmed that the primary goal is to empower young people, using sport as a bridge for communication and social harmony.
