General Saddam Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, inaugurated the newly reconstructed and state-of-the-art headquarters of the Benghazi Security Directorate. The ceremony was attended by Libyan Government Prime Minister Dr. Osama Hammad, Interior Minister Major General Issam Abu Zariba, Undersecretary Major General Faraj Qaem, and Directorate Chief Major General Salah Howeidi, alongside senior security officials and members of the House of Representatives.
The opening featured a parade of symbolic units from the directorate, while the Deputy Commander-in-Chief reviewed operational workflows and security readiness levels. General Saddam Haftar underscored the importance of continuously enhancing the efficiency of security personnel to ensure stability throughout Benghazi and its surroundings. The reopening of this facility, which was destroyed by terrorist groups in 2014, marks a return for the directorate as a pillar of law enforcement in this phase of state institution rebuilding and national stabilization.
