The Global Summit on Women’s Economic Empowerment has commenced, with participation from Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Houria Al-Tormal, and Minister of Economy, Mohamed Al-Hawij, alongside economic leaders, decision-makers, experts, and entrepreneurs from 15 nations.
The summit, organized by the Libyan Businesswomen’s Organization as part of the 4th International Economic Forum for Women’s Empowerment under the slogan “Women: The Power of Development,” aims to discuss ways to enhance women’s economic participation, support entrepreneurship, and expand opportunities for startups.
In her address, Minister Al-Tormal emphasized the importance of strengthening women’s roles in major institutions and strategic sectors, including the oil, technology, and strategic planning industries. She stressed the government’s commitment to launching national initiatives to empower women economically, increase their participation in the labor market, and enhance their role in economic development.
