The Central Bank of Libya, in a recent report issued yesterday, Monday, revealed a notable growth in total banking assets during 2024, reaching 187.6 billion dinars, excluding regulatory accounts.
The report, titled “Key Banking Financial Data and Indicators” indicated that banking assets registered an 18.2% increase compared to the previous year, when they stood at 158.7 billion dinars in 2023. The assets increased by 28.9 billion dinars.
In a related context, the report pointed to a decrease in the balance of clearing accounts between banks and branches to 3.5 billion dinars in 2024, compared to 7.3 billion dinars in 2023.
