Waha Oil Company has successfully brought two new gas wells on stream at the Faregh field, as part of its 2025 development drilling program aimed at boosting natural gas output and strengthening the energy system, in line with directives from the National Oil Corporation and under the supervision of the company’s management committee.
The company stated that wells BB19 and BB20 were drilled, tested, and placed into production using the latest technologies and technical standards, with direct oversight from the reservoir engineering department, as part of the second phase of the field’s gas capacity expansion plan.
Operational data show that well BB19 produces 14 million cubic feet of gas per day along with 770 barrels of condensates, while well BB20 yields approximately 12 million cubic feet of gas per day and 840 barrels of condensates, using a 64/32 choke size.
This achievement provides a significant boost to the Faregh field, which is a key supplier of gas to the Sarir power station, while also contributing to the coastal grid, thereby enhancing supply stability and meeting local demand.
The company’s management committee praised the efforts of technical and engineering staff, as well as operations and service teams, stressing that this success reflects strong coordination and integration across departments.
