A meeting was held on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, chaired by Tahir al‑Baour, acting head of the ministry, and attended by Martin Reynolds, the United Kingdom’s ambassador to Libya, with the participation of the Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Major General Mahmoud Ashour al‑Ajili. The meeting was convened in accordance with the instructions of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity and Acting Foreign Minister, Abdulhamid Dbeibah.
The meeting was dedicated to following up on investigations into the crash of the aircraft that was carrying the Chief of Staff of the Western Region and his accompanying delegation, with a focus on coordinating procedures for the retrieval and analysis of black box data in cooperation with local and international bodies.
Participants also discussed the joint request submitted by Libya and Turkey to the United Kingdom to provide technical and legal support in analyzing the black box, stressing the importance of expediting the completion of procedures and disclosing the causes of the accident with transparency and professionalism.
