Sirt Oncology Center witnessed, on the third day of the holy month of Ramadan, the performance of 16 varied surgical operations in the urology department, which started from the early morning hours, within the framework of the center’s operational plan aimed at continuing to provide specialized medical services without interruption, even during the days of the holy month.
The center’s administration confirmed that all operations were successful, thanks to the solidarity of the medical, nursing, and technical teams and their keenness to adhere to the highest medical standards adopted in the operating rooms, both in terms of readiness and safety and sterilization procedures.

Consultant Dr. Omran Bourqiqa led operations, with Dr. Ezzedine Ajaj, supervising various surgical cases received by the urology department, ranging from delicate interventions to therapeutic procedures requiring special equipment and advanced expertise. On the anesthesia side, specialist Dr. Omar Al-Tayeb, Dr. Samia Ben Ghazi, and Dr. Salma Ahmed supervised anesthesia and monitored cases to ensure the stability of patients’ vital signs before, during, and after surgery. Anesthesia technicians Khalifa Eshqaq, Sadiq Agdourat, Oureida Khalil, Salma Al-Suweidi, and Masouda participated in preparing equipment and monitoring anesthesia devices.
The nursing staff, known as “scrub”, played a pivotal role in the success of these operations by preparing surgical instruments and monitoring the workflow. Saad Al-Dunikhi, Aisha Al-Rishi, Naima Ajdari, Fatima Al-Shuhoubi, Tilawa Ibrahim, Qumra Al-Siddiq, Moatasem Bashir, and Ahmed Karwad participated in these tasks, working as a team to ensure smooth operations.

The center’s administration praised the collective efforts, emphasizing that working during Ramadan requires double preparation, yet the medical staff showed high commitment toward their humanitarian duty. Performing this number of operations indicates the center’s readiness to receive cases continuously without reducing services.
The center contributes to alleviating the burden of travel for patients to other cities by providing surgical and therapeutic services within the city. The success of these operations reflects the level of coordination between departments to ensure the continuity and quality of health services.
