The Embassy of Bangladesh in Tripoli organized an official program to mark the country’s Independence Day and National Day. The event, held at the embassy premises, was attended by Ambassador Major General Habib Ullah, diplomatic staff, and members of the Bangladeshi community. The celebrations commenced with the Ambassador hoisting the national flag to the strains of the national anthem, followed by a discussion session where official messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister were read. A documentary chronicling Bangladesh’s historical struggle for independence was also screened. The gathering featured remarks from diplomats and community members, concluding with prayers for peace and prosperity while honoring the sacrifices of the 1971 Liberation War martyrs.

Furthermore, the Embassy hosted a formal reception at a hotel in Tripoli, attended by Libyan officials, including Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Ali Mohammed Al-Nadhuri and the Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taher Hussein, and Stephanie Khoury, Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, alongside various ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, and businessmen. The reception featured a documentary highlighting Bangladesh’s economic development, cultural heritage, and its ties with Libya. In his address, the Ambassador outlined his nation’s political and economic progress, reiterating the government’s commitment to building a prosperous state.
