During the session, Engineer Belgasem asserted that the current phase in Libya necessitates a swift transition from coordination and planning to direct, on-the-ground implementation alongside international partners. He emphasized that the primary objective today is to accelerate the pace of achievement and deliver tangible results. By unifying efforts and leveraging global technical expertise, the Fund aims to ensure that all ongoing and future projects meet the highest standards of efficiency and long-term sustainability.
Furthermore, he highlighted that the vision for reconstruction in Libya has evolved beyond mere infrastructure and physical restoration. The strategy now encompasses human capital development and the consolidation of social stability as fundamental pillars of national progress. According to the Director-General, establishing a foundation for sustainable development across various sectors is crucial for long-term peace, ensuring that the rebuilding process serves as a catalyst for overall economic and social prosperity in coordination with the United Nations.
