The Security Operations Department of the Illegal Migration Control Department (IMCD) in Benghazi announced the apprehension of 140 migrants of various nationalities. This is the second phase of a security plan designed to regulate the status of foreign nationals within the country. The mission followed directives from the head of the department, Major General Salah al-Khafeefi, emphasizing the enforcement of order and the tracking of individuals violating residency and entry laws.
According to information released by the department, those apprehended lacked official identification or passports, leading to the initiation of necessary legal procedures in accordance with established regulations. The campaign involved an organized security deployment across several sites in Benghazi, featuring field inspections and identity verification that demonstrated strong coordination among the department’s security units.
Following the completion of the arrest procedures, the migrants were transferred to the Greater Benghazi Shelter Center for administrative and legal processing. The IMCD reaffirmed its commitment to continuing these security plans nationwide, focusing on monitoring the status of illegal migrants and taking firm action against violators.
