0001

The Libyan Embassy in Cairo has finalized the settlement of outstanding debts owed to Egyptian hospitals and medical centers. These financial obligations, which accumulated between 2018 and 2021, were addressed following directives from Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah and under the oversight of the debt audit committee established by Cabinet Decree No. 262 of 2021.

Ambassador Abdul Muttalib Idris Thabet, Libya’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League and acting head of the embassy, oversaw the proceedings, noting that this systematic approach relies on transparency and precision. He emphasized that resolving these lingering financial files is crucial for reinforcing trust with Egyptian medical providers. The embassy further reiterated its commitment to completing the settlement of all remaining liabilities through clear accounting standards, reflecting the robust partnership between the two nations in the fields of healthcare and specialized treatment services.
