The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Colonel General Khaled Haftar, arrived at the General Command Headquarters of the Jordanian Armed Forces, where he was received by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Yousef al-Huneiti, along with several military leaders. This official visit aimed to discuss ways to develop military and security cooperation between the two countries. The visit included official reception ceremonies reflecting the bilateral relations between Libya and Jordan.
Discussions between the two sides covered expanding military cooperation, including the exchange of expertise and training, and developing the combat capabilities of the armed forces. Both parties emphasized the importance of joint work in tactical exercises as a tool for raising military efficiency and improving the readiness of forces to deal with various regional security challenges, especially in light of the changes in the region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides signed a joint cooperation agreement in military and security fields to enhance coordination between the armed forces of both countries. The agreement includes training, exchange of expertise, and the implementation of joint programs to raise the efficiency of military personnel, alongside developing cooperation mechanisms in defense and security.
For his part, Major General Yousef al-Huneiti praised the role played by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces in restructuring and developing the military institution according to modern methods, noting that building a strong and organized military is a key element in achieving stability. Haftar confirmed that this visit reflects the depth of historical relations and the keenness of both sides to develop them.
This visit and agreement reflect a trend toward building relationships based on coordination and integration, and a growing interest in strengthening military cooperation between Arab countries, thereby supporting regional stability and contributing to facing common security challenges.
