Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty had a phone call with his Greek counterpart, George Gerapetritis, to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments, specifically focusing on de-escalation efforts in the region and in Libya. During the conversation, Abdelatty highlighted Egypt’s firm position on preserving Libya’s territorial unity, national stability, and the urgent unification of its institutions. Both ministers agreed on the necessity of a “Libyan-led” political solution that fully respects national sovereignty and fulfills the legitimate aspirations of its people. They further called for advancing the political process toward holding simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible to ensure long-term peace.
